How much does it cost?

Initial Fee: $1,450 per subject

Includes setup, online training and documentation, MagiKats resources and access to the KATS system* for one subject, for one year. Subjects available are maths and English.

Ongoing: $20 per enrolment, per month

For each student enrolled in a single subject, $20 per month gets you all the curriculum and core sheets you need for them (reasonable use policy applies).

After the initial one year, a monthly access fee of $50 per subject is payable.

Is this a franchise?

No. A franchisee:

  • Uses the franchisor’s trade name;

  • Follows their system to the letter;

  • Only uses materials provided by the franchisor;

  • Must operate workshops from approved premises;

  • Is effectively the franchisor’s local representative.

This model suits those who want to follow a system closely and do not want to offer additional subjects, or programmes targeting other skills.

A licensee:

  • Is free to run in any way they feel will work best in their local area - be that small groups, 1-2-1, as after-school support;

  • Is free to use other materials if they wish (although there should be no need in normal circumstances);

  • Chooses their own trading name;

  • Uses their local knowledge to market and build their business.

If you want access to world class materials but without the prescribed system (and associated costs) of a franchise, then a licence is for you.
